About us

Hi! I’m Michelle. My daughter Lili and I create henna art.

My background:

My aunt is a henna artist and I grew up receiving hennas at all the family gatherings. I fell in love. As a teenager, I started learning how to do henna fundamentals,, how to compose henna designs and learning techniques for applying henna with a bottle. I worked with my aunt and a couple other artists for 3 years as a teenager, working beach festivals, parties and an occasional wedding.

When I moved to San Diego after high school, I worked as a henna artist with another team of talented artists for the next 3 years. During this time I learned how to use a henna cone. After I started a career in tech as a product designer, I set aside henna as a business but continued to do it for friends and family and the occasional party for the next 15 years.

The here and now:

Now, my daughter is a teenager and extremely artistically talented. I’m so excited to continue teaching her how to design and apply henna and watch her grow in another form of art. This is why I’m back at it as a professional. Depending on the event’s needs, I may go alone or bring my daughter.
